La Mamounia

The legendary palace-hotel of Marrakech, reopened in 2009 after its great renovation. Lanterns, arcades and still water carry the light from the gardens to the pools and on into the salons.

The brief was to keep the house recognisable while giving it a night of its own: warm, low and generous, with the sources tucked into the architecture so that the zellige, the carved cedar and the reflections do the talking.
